Colorize black and white photos free in your browser: on-device AI picks natural colors, or use tonal styles and a color brush — no upload, no signup.
In Auto mode the colorizer runs a neural network — the ECCV 2016 “Colorful Image Colorization” model by Zhang, Isola and Efros — directly in your browser via WebAssembly. It predicts natural chroma from your photo's tones while the original luminance keeps every pixel of detail, at up to 4096 px on the longest side. Alongside it there are 8 hand-tuned tonal palettes and a color brush for painting specific hues — skin, sky, clothing — with 15 undo steps. Because the AI lives on your device instead of a server, results are private by construction: your photos never leave the browser tab.
Colorize Photo is part of a family of small, single-purpose image tools. Each one does exactly one job in the browser, free and without an account.
